Well, last night stunk. But, baseball is a long season and it would do us no good to dwell on the yesterday. Time to get even in this four game series against the second place Rays.
It would be nice to see some offense from the Bombers tonight. Run production has been down for a few weeks now, although they did tag Ryne Stanek, tonight’s opener for Tampa Bay, on July 5. Perhaps that, along with the “A” lineup tonight (no rest for any healthy regulars!), will get things going. Here are both sides for tonight’s affair:
Rays (56-40)
- Travis d’Arnaud, 1B
- Tommy Pham, DH
- Michael Brosseau, 2B
- Yandy Díaz, 3B
- Avisaíl García, RF
- Austin Meadows, LF
- Willy Adames, SS
- Kevin Kiermaier, CF
- Mike Zunino, C
RHP Ryne Stanek
Yankees (59-33)
- DJ LeMahieu, 3B
- Aaron Judge, RF
- Luke Voit, 1B
- Gary Sánchez, C
- Edwin Encarnación, DH
- Didi Gregorius, SS
- Aaron Hicks, CF
- Gleyber Torres, 2B
- Brett Gardner, LF
LHP CC Sabathia
Let’s see if CC has the ability to retire the newest Yankee-killer, d’Arnaud. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm on YES and WFAN. Enjoy the ballgame.
