Aaron Judge is back in the building, but Yankee fans will have to wait another 24 hours to get him back in the lineup.

The right field behemoth will be activated in time for Game 2 of the Yankees-Astros series, so the Bombers will have to go with their “B” lineup, which *only* has the top two home run hitters in the American League.

Houston comes in having lost four consecutive games while the Yankees are winners of five straight.

Let’s get to the lineups:

Astros (48-27)

  1. Alex Bregman, SS
  2. Michael Brantley, LF
  3. Jose Altuve, 2B
  4. Yordan Alvarez, DH
  5. Yuli Gurriel, 3B
  6. Josh Reddick, RF
  7. Robinson Chirinos, C
  8. Tyler White, 1B
  9. Jake Marisnick, CF

LHP Framber Valdez

Yankees (46-27)

  1. DJ LeMahieu, 3B
  2. Luke Voit, DH
  3. Gary Sanchez, C
  4. Giancarlo Stanton, RF
  5. Edwin Encarnacion, 1B
  6. Gleyber Torres, 2B
  7. Didi Gregorius, SS
  8. Cameron Maybin, LF
  9. Brett Gardner, CF

RHP Chad Green

Notes

  • Today is an opener game, so it should be Green followed by Nestor Cortes Jr. Houston’s lineup doesn’t change too much, but it’s well situated to face either sided pitchers.
  • Jordan Montgomery has inflammation in his shoulder and will be shut down for two weeks, Aaron Boone said. His chances of pitching this season are dwindling.
  • Judge may or may not know about our fledgling site? Judge, come on the pod! (if we had one)

The game is set for a 7:05 p.m. EDT start on YES. While the tarp was on the field earlier, the skies have cleared, so the game should be good to go. Enjoy!

Update 9:00 p.m.: After a rain delay of 30ish minutes, the tarp is off the field and play will resume soon. Yankees are up 6-0.
