The Yanks are in a bit of a mini-skid right now, having lost 4 of their last 5. Somewhat of a slide was inevitable after the ridiculous month-long stretch the team just had. Hopefully, it’s just a minor bump in the road and that they get back on track starting today.

Here are today’s lineups:

New York Yankees (39-23)
1. Brett Gardner, LF
2. DJ LeMahieu, 1B
3. Aaron Hicks, CF
4. Didi Gregorius, SS
5. Gleyber Torres, 2B
6. Kendrys Morales, DH
7. Clint Frazier, RF
8. Gio Urshela, 3B
9. Austin Romine, C
SP: CC Sabathia (3-2, 3.61 ERA)

Cleveland Indians (32-31)
1 Francisco Lindor, SS
2 Oscar Mercado, LF
3 Carlos Santana, 1B
4 Jordan Luplow, RF
5 José Ramírez, 3B
6 Roberto Peréz, DH
7 Jason Kipnis, 2B
8 Kevin Plawecki, C
9 Leonys Martin, CF
SP: Adam Plutko (1-1, 6.35 ERA)

This is the final start in Cleveland for CC Sabathia, who began his career in Cleveland and won a Cy Young as a member of the team. It must have extra meaning. Finally, I’m not one to complain about the lineup, but I’ve had enough of Kendrys Morales hitting in the middle of the order. I just do not understand. Oh well. Enjoy the game.

  • Dellin Betances has stopped throwing, at least for now. He had some shoulder soreness after a recent bullpen session, so he’s going to get seen by a professional. INWYW.
  • Giancarlo Stanton is set to resume his rehab assignment this Tuesday or Wednesday, starting in Tampa and then going to Scranton.
  • Troy Tulowitzki is at home, if you care.
  • Masahiro Tanaka will start on Monday now following the birth of his daughter. Congratulations to the Tanakas.
