Game 46: Keep it Going

The Yankees have themselves a winning streak. That’s more like it. This is the biggest series of the season so far, if you can believe it, so it would be nice for the Yanks to keep the good times rolling and continue to put space between themselves and Baltimore. Here are the lineups as they try to do just that:

Baltimore Orioles (20-24)
1. Hanser Alberto, 2B
2. José Iglesias, DH
3. Ryan Mountcastle, LF
4. Pedro Severino, C
5. Renato Nuñez, 1B
6. DJ Stewart, RF
7. Pat Valaika, SS
8. Rio Ruiz, 3B
9. Cedric Mullins, CF
Dean Kremer, RHP

New York Yankees (24-21)
1. DJ LeMahieu, 2B
2. Luke Voit, 1B
3. Aaron Hicks, CF
4. Clint Frazier, DH
5. Gleyber Torres, SS
6. Brett Gardner, LF
7. Gary Sánchez, C
8. Thairo Estrada, 2B
9. Mike Tauchman, RF
Jordan Montgomery, LHP

Let’s hope Monty can turn it around. The last few starts for him have been pretty rough for the lefty.

News & Notes

  • Luke Voit is visibly dealing with some “foot stuff” but he won’t rest (and it sure isn’t hurting his production.” “I want to be out there,” Voit told Randy Miller. “I’m going to do everything possible to make sure I can play.”
  • Brooks Kriske was returned to the Alternate Site after yesterday’s doubleheader. (Yankees)
  • Former Yankees MiLB head man Mark Newman died of a heart attack today at 71 years old. May he rest in peace. (Jon Heyman)

First pitch is at 1:05 pm, with the broadcast on YES locally and MLBTV nationally. As always, WFAN will have the radio call. It’s a gorgeous day in the Bronx, so try to take a walk before the game, everyone. See you soon.
