Wow. How do you follow up what just happened in the Bronx? I guess it’s by having the Yankees serve as the road team in Yankee Stadium for a double-header in which their #3 ranked prospect, Deivi Garcia, will make his MLB debut.

It was not actually a long wait – the man is just 21-years-old, for crying out loud – but it felt that way, didn’t it? Let’s just hope we get to see some of this in the Bronx:

And this:

And, of course, this:

New York Yankees (17-13)
1. DJ LeMahieu, DH
2. Luke Voit, 1B
3. Aaron Hicks, CF
4. Clint Frazier, RF
5. Gio Urshela, 3B
6. Mike Tauchman, LF
7. Erik Kratz, C
8. Tyler Wade, SS
9. Thairo Estrada, 3B
Deivi Garcia, RHP

New York Mets
1. Jeff McNeil, LF
2. Michael Conforto, RF
3. Dom Smith, 1B
4. J.D. Davis, 3B
5. Robinson Canó, 2B
6. Pete Alonso, DH
7. Amed Rosario, SS
8. Jake Marisnick, CF
9. Ali Sánchez, C
Seth Lugo, RHP

So that’s there are the lineups. I still am in shock from earlier today, so I don’t have a lot to say yet.

News & Notes

  • Brooks Kriske was optioned after today’s game and Albert Abreu was recalled. So that’s a bit more bullpen depth. (Bryan Hoch)
  • DJ LeMahieu wasn’t going to play, but he got some time off by accident in game one. So he’ll DH tonight. (Bryan Hoch)

First pitch is in about TK minutes. The game will be broadcast on YES/SNY locally and ESPN nationally. As always, WFAN/WADO will have the call on the radio. Enjoy the game, everyone.
