Game 24: Just beat the Rays

The Yankees haven’t lost a Gerrit Cole outing this season, and tonight’s not the time to start. After last night’s loss, Tampa Bay sits just 1.5 games behind the Yankees with five more matchups upcoming, including tonight. Each and every one of those games will be pivotal, and thus far, the Rays have had the upper hand by winning four of five affairs. Cole can help the Yankees get back on track tonight.

Tyler Glasnow, who’s struggled over his last two starts (including one against the Yankees), takes the ball for the Rays. He’s a tough opponent regardless of how he’s pitched lately. These are the lineups behind Glasnow and Cole:

Tampa Bay Rays (15-9)

  1. Austin Meadows, LF
  2. Yandy Díaz, 3B
  3. Brandon Lowe, 2B
  4. José Martínez, DH
  5. Ji-Man Choi, 1B
  6. Willy Adames, SS
  7. Kevin Kiermaier, CF
  8. Manual Margot, RF
  9. Mike Zunino, C

RHP Tyler Glasnow

New York Yankees (16-7)

  1. Aaron Hicks, CF
  2. Luke Voit, 1B
  3. Gio Urshela, 3B
  4. Mike Ford, DH
  5. Gleyber Torres, SS
  6. Gary Sánchez, C
  7. Brett Gardner, LF
  8. Clint Frazier, RF
  9. Thairo Estrada, 2B

RHP Gerrit Cole
