James Paxton looked much more like his old self in his last outing against the Rays. He’s still got some work to do, namely in terms of recovering lost velocity on his fastball, but it was nice to see him finally have some success after two rough outings to start the season. We should have a sense of what kind of night Paxton is going to have early on. If his velocity is up, great. If not, does he have the command like he did against Tampa Bay? He’ll need that if his fastball still sits around 92.
