The Yankees have won four straight games, including the first three of their series with the Red Sox. However, in that span, they’ve seen Didi Gregorius, Edwin Encarnacion and Aaron Hicks all go down with injury, with the latter two heading to the injured list after yesterday’s games.
That leaves the Yankees with a lineup resembling mid-April as Aaron Judge, Gleyber Torres and Brett Gardner are the only players in tonight’s lineup who also started on Opening Day.

Going for the sweep with the Red Sox won’t be easy. It’ll be a battle of dad strength as J.A. Happ and David Price both return from the paternity list to make tonight’s start. Congrats to both of them!
Anyway, here are the lineups:
Red Sox (59-54)
- Mookie Betts, RF
- Rafael Devers, 3B
- Xander Bogaerts, SS
- J.D. Martinez, DH
- Sam Travis, 1B
- Andrew Benintendi, LF
- Christian Vazquez, C
- Michael Chavis, 2B
- Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
LHP David Price
Yankees (71-39)
- Gleyber Torres, 2B
- Aaron Hicks, DH
- Didi Gregorius, SS
- Gio Urshela, 3B
- Brett Gardner, CF
- Cameron Maybin, RF
- Mike Ford, 1B
- Kyle Higashioka, C
- Mike Tauchman, LF
LHP J.A. Happ
News & Notes
- In case you missed it, Aaron Hicks was placed on the 10-day IL with a right flexor strain. Much better than needing Tommy John surgery, though he’s not out of the woods. The team is having him rest for the next 7-10 days.
- Gary Sanchez is set to go on a rehab assignment this week and should return to the team in Toronto. He’s recovering on the 10-day IL from a groin strain.
- The move to add Happ back from the paternity list was the Hicks IL placement.
Tonight’s game is Sunday Night Baseball, so it’s a 7:05 p.m. start on ESPN. Should be clear skies as the Yankees go for the sweep. Lol, nevermind. The start will be delayed by rain.
Update 7:39 p.m.: The game will start at 8:15 p.m. approximately. Not sure if it actually rained enough to justify a delay.
