News & Notes

  • Aaron Hicks is sitting out today. Aaron Boone relayed to the media that it’s been an understandably difficult day for Hicks after Minnesota police officer shot and killed Daunte Wright yesterday. (Lindsey Adler)
  • Although Stanton is still in the lineup, he’s weighing whether or not to play tonight. (Bryan Hoch)
  • Clarke Schmidt received a cortisone injection for his common extensor (elbow) strain. If it’s effective, he could start throwing again in the next couple of weeks. (Bryan Hoch)

First pitch is scheduled for 7:07pm on YES and WFAN. Enjoy the game.

Game 10: Cole and Higgy Steal a 3-1 Win in Dunedin

And some folks still don’t want Higgy to catch Gerrit Cole. Without Higgy we don’t score and we fall yet another game behind the first place Sox.

Where the hell is Dunedin, Bobby? Is it next to Mordor? Must win with Cole on the mound. Higgy should be catching Cole every single start. They work too well together to break up. Stanton needs to play tonight but if he doesn’t then DH Gary. Bruce needs to be cut. Odor is a hero and should be starting every day until Voit returns. And I don’t want to see Tauchman at 1st base. Just call up Ford.

What would the Yanks (or any other team) do if the majority of their players refuse to play? Forfeit the game? … hmm, I don’t wanna give tanking teams ideas 😀

Depends of the other club agrees. Twins-Sox was postponed so I assume both clubs agreed not to play. We need to play.

Get Higgy a first base glove and play him tomorrow.

Just to be clear Higgy is not Cole’s personal catcher, he just happens to catch most of his starts when it isn’t opening day…
