News & Notes

  • Forgot to mention this in yesterday’s DoTF: For Luis Severino and Dellin Betances’ rehab appearances in Trenton, they use the MLB ball when they’re in the game, then the MiLB ball when they’re not. That way, they can use the ball they’re used to.
  • As the headline indicates, Scranton’s season is over. That leaves the Thunder as the only affiliate remaining.
  • The Thunder will play Bowie (Double-A Orioles) in the Eastern League Championship Series. They will host the Baysox on Tuesday and Wednesday, then go on the road Thursday-Saturday.

  • In Relief: RHP Deivi Garcia: 1+ IP, 2 H, 5 R, 4 BB, 0 K, 1 HR — Had two stretches of 8+ straight balls … In my opinion, he is not ready for a call-up and should wait until next year.
