This one was over pretty early. The Patriots scored runs in each of the first four innings, as follows: 3, 3, 2, and 2. The final: 10-3 over Hartford (box score).
- Starting Pitcher: LHP Matt Krook: 4.0 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 K – 40 of 67 pitches were strikes (60%)…Two first inning errors (including one of his own on a pickoff) led to the unearned runs. Pretty effective otherwise.
- In relief: RHP Carlos Espinal: 2.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K – 29 of 44 pitches were strikes (66%)
- In relief: RHP Kevin Gadea: 2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K – 23 of 36 pitches were strikes (64%)

- Back-to-back: SS Oswaldo Cabrera: 2-5, R, 2B, HR, RBI, BB, K – Went back-to-back, and a belly-to-belly, with Alexander.
- Also homering: 1B Max Burt: 2-5, R, HR, 4 RBI, K – Went deep in the fourth.
- Leftovers: DH Dermis García went 1-for-3 before being lifted for a pinch hitter. It’s not clear why he was pulled. LF Isiah Gilliam was on base four times and stole two bases.

High-A Hudson Valley Renegades
Hudson Valley fell back to .500 with a 6-5 loss to Brooklyn in 12 innings yesterday (box score). This one was a doozy with the extra inning rule in play. Both sides didn’t score in the 10th and matched a run a piece in the 11th. The ‘Gades plated two in the top of the 12th, only to lose on a 3-run walkoff homer in the bottom half by Hayden Senger.
- Starting Pitcher: RHP Hayden Wesneski: 5.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K – 42 of 57 pitches were strikes (74%)…6th round pick in 2019 now has a 0.93 ERA in 19.1 innings at the level.
- In relief: RHP Nick Ernst: 3.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 1 HR – 28 of 39 pitches were strikes (72%)

Single-A Tampa Tarpons
Fort Myers’ six-run second inning doomed the Tarpons. Tampa’s record dropped to 13-5 with the 9-3 loss (box score, Statcast).
- Starting pitcher: RHP Jhonatan Munoz: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 6 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 2 HBP, 2 K – 21 of 47 pitches were strikes (45%)…Very wild. Six runs scored after Anthony Volpe’s fielding error with one out and no one on in the second
- In relief: LHP Michael Giacone: 1.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K – 30 of 45 pitches were strikes (67%)
- In relief: RHP Randy Vasquez: 3.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K – 31 of 51 pitches were strikes (61%)

- Statcast star: CF Elijah Dunham: 1-5, R , K – Had a 110.8 MPH lineout and 101.9 MPH fly out…naturally, his single was 87 MPH…Signed as an undrafted free agent last year (remember, the draft was only five rounds)…hitting .308/.438/.519 in 64 PA this season.
- Leftovers: Everyone except Wells had a hit…RF Jacob Sanford doubled.
