Double-A Somerset Patriots

Reading put up four runs in the second inning and managed to hold off Somerset tonight, 5-4 (box score). The Patriots are now 44-29.

  • Prospect watch: CF Brandon Lockridge: 3-4, R, 2 2B, CS — Up to a .999 OPS in 61 PAs in Somerset…Had a .717 mark in 136 for Hudson Valley.
  • Leftovers: 2B Oswaldo Cabrera and 1B Max Burt had the only other hits for the offense.

High-A Hudson Valley Renegades

It’s not often that we see one of the Yankees’ affiliates on the wrong side a blowout, but tonight, Wilmington crushed Hudson Valley, 19-6 (box score).

  • Starting pitcher: RHP Alexander Vizcaíno: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 0 K — 15 of 30 pitches were strikes (50%)Also uncorked a wild pitch…Rough outing for him, to say the least.

Single-A Tampa and the FCL Yankees were rained out.

    Is Weissert a bullpen option down the stretch? He’s looked pretty dominant in the minors, big K numbers.
