  • Matt Kardos of Pinstriped Prospects wrote a long piece on Deivi Garcia’s adjustment to Double-A Trenton. For added measure, he includes some video of Garcia’s outings. Definitely check this piece out on the Yankees’ top prospect.
  •’s Sam Dykstra put together his personal ballot for the Triple-A All-Star Game. He included two Yankee farmhands: Mike Ford at first base and Ryan McBroom at DH. Worth the read on some of the best players at the next-best level.
  • The Nationals signed former Yankees draft pick Dante Bichette Jr. to a Minor League deal last week. He had been playing for High Point in the Atlantic League.

Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders: (7-6 win at Norfolk) … Maintains 5.5 game lead in the division.

  • Starting Pitcher: RHP Randall Delgado: 4 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 1 K, 5/5 GB/FB — 49 of his 86 pitches (67%) were strikes … His shakiest start since his Scranton debut.
  • In Relief: RHP Danny Farquhar: 1 2/3 IP, 1 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 HR, 1 HBP — Not ideal, but amazing that he’s back on a mound. 16.20 ERA is nothing compared to what he’s been through.
  • In Relief: RHP Matt Joe Harvey: 1 1/3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K — Earned the save.
  • Hitting Star: 1B Mike Ford: 2-for-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 R — 15 homers at Triple-A despite spending time in the Majors.
  • Hitting Star No. 2: 2B Thairo Estrada: 3-for-5, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 2 R, 1 SB — Folks, the #SummerOfThairo is back … His first hits since his demotion.

  2. Thanks for this! , Verlander with 15ks… boy that cheap hal move that keeps on giving. Lost us the chance at the world series, and god knows what’s coming this year.

      Verlander was a gamble that worked out spectacularly for the Astros, in part because their staff has been phenomenal at improving pitchers. You can’t say that about the Yankees.
