The RailRiders fell down 4-0 early and couldn’t complete the comeback as they lost 4-3 to Worcester today dropping them to 34-15 on the year.

Double-A Somerset Patriots

The Patriots nearly no-hit the Harrisburg Senators in this laugher of a 10-0 victory behind a great start from Glen Otto and homeruns from Diego Castillo, Oswald Cabrera, Donny Sands, Michael Beltre, and Oswald Peraza. They are now 34-18 on the season.

High-A Hudson Valley Renegades

Game 1: The ‘Gades fell 2-0 in game one of today’s doubleheader against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws. A homerun by Nate Fassnacht was enough to drop the Renegades to 32-19 on the season.

  • Starting Pitcher: RHP Jhony Brito: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K – 72% strikes on a solid outing that deserved better than a loss
  • In Relief: RHP Derek Craft: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K – 50% strikes to close this one out.
  • Offensive Star: SS Ezequiel Duran: 2-3, 1 K – OPS at a great .888
  • Bro-tastic: DH Josh Breaux: 1-3, 1 2B, 1 K – had the only xbh for the team today.
  • Leftovers: Pablo Olivares had the only other hit in this one. Anthony Seigler went hitless and is below the Mendoza line for the season.

Game 2: The ‘Gades returned the favor with a 2-0 victory in game 2 behind a strong start from Mitch Spence and a homerun from Ezequiel Duran. They are 33-19 on the season.

  • Starting Pitcher: RHP Mitch Spence: 5.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K – 66% strikes…has a 5.15 K/BB ratio in his young career. That’ll play
  • In Relief: RHP Elvis Peguero: 2.0 IP, zeroes, 4 K – a ridiculous 85% strike rate to close this one out with no problems
  • Offensive Star: DH Ezequiel Duran: 1-3, 1 HR – updated OPS at .901
  • Bro-tastic: C Josh Breaux: 1-2, 1 BB
  • Leftovers: Frederick Cuevas and Eduardo Torrealba had the only other hits. Offensive did jusssssssttttt enough to win this one.

The Tarpons were rained out and will make the game up tomorrow. An independence day double header!
