  • The rest of the Florida State League regular season and postseason have been canceled because Hurricane Dorian is set to hit the state. That means the Tampa Tarpons‘ season is over, just as the GCL teams’ seasons are over.

Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders: (8-4 loss vs. Buffalo) … They are tied with Syracuse with three games to go in the season.

    Re: Deivi. You could be right, although they may also opt to continue his development by giving him his first look at the big leagues and allowing the major league coaching staff to work with him too. They likely want him to be an option as a call-up starter in 2020, so they’ll do what’s best to get him prepared for that. The stuff is there. The command needs work. At his age, hard to say when that will happen, but the more work he can get in the better. I doubt they’re concerned about extending his service time here. With pitchers, use them while you can.
