  • Hitting star: SS Oswald Peraza: 2-4, BB, 2 K — Hard to have a hitting star when you get shut out, but a nice game from Peraza nonetheless. He’s at .276/.344/.422 for Somerset, and .291/.365/.476 overall if you count his stats with Hudson Valley.
  • Leftovers: Very quiet day offensively, obviously. Only other hits belonged to 1B Dermis García (one) and RF Thomas Milone (two).

High-A Hudson Valley Renegades

The Renegades currently trail Brooklyn 4-1 in the seventh. We’ll update this later once it goes final if anything notable occurs. (Gameday)

Single-A Tampa Tarpons

The Tarpons improved to 40-18 on the season with a 6-1 victory against Dunedin (box score).

  • In relief: RHP Nick Paciorek: 3.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K — 24 of 39 pitches were strikes (62%)Nice outing for the organization’s seventh-round pick in 2019.
  • In relief: RHP Carson Coleman: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K — 13 of 21 pitches were strikes (62%)
  • New kid in town: DH Everson Pereira: 3-5, R, K, SB — What a hot start at the level…9-for-18, 2 homers, a triple, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts, and a stolen base in four games.
  • Hitting star: 1B Andres Chapparro: 2-2, 2 R, 2B, 3 RBI, 3 BB — 22 year-old has a .273/.370/.455 batting line, good for a career-best .824 OPS. Didn’t seem like much of a hitter when he repeated short-season Staten Island in 2019 and had a .697 OPS.
  • Prospect watch: SS Anthony Volpe: 0-5 — Put the ball in play all five at-bats, at least.
  • Hauver heat check: 2B Trevor Hauver: 1-3, R, 2 BB — Hitting .424/.565/.636 this month
  • Leftovers: C Carlos Narvaez had two hits…RF Jake Sanford walked twice.
