DoTF: Farm Goes 2-2 as Jasson Named to Futures Roster

Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders

The RailRiders improved to 33-13 after dispatching the Red Sox 9-7. Hey, at least someone in the organization can beat a Boston affiliate! They had 7 stolen bases in this one. A good game all around.

  • Starting Pitcher: RHP Luis Gil: 5.0 IP,5 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 6 K – 69% of his pitches were strikes…nice start for Gil, who will hopefully build on it for next time
  • In Relief: RHP Greg Weissert: 0.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 2 BB – 39% of his pitches were strikes…earned his 3rd hold
  • In Relief: RHP Nick Goody: 2.1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K – 58% of his pitches were strikes…earned his 2nd hold
  • In Relief: RHP Sal Romano: 1.0 IP, 2 H, 4 R, 2 K – 70% of his pitches were strikes...rough appearance
  • Philosopher King: RF Socrates Brito: 3-5, 2B, 2 RBI, 1 K – he’s hitting .285 on the season
  • Florial Watch: CF Estevan Florial: 1-4, 2 R, 1 BB, 2 SB – Florial has been on a tear lately, which is nice to see…hopefully the Yanks let him continue to develop in Triple-A
  • Red Hot Middle Infielder: SS Hoy Jun Park: 1-5, 1 R, RBI, 1 SB – there may be no place at the in for him in the show, but he’s been damn good
  • Multi-Hit Watch: LF Ryan LaMarre: 2-4, 2 R, 3B, RBI, SB
  • Multi-Hit Watch: 2B Andrew Velazquez: 2-4, 2 R, 2B, 2 K, 3 SB
  • Leftovers: Kyler Holder and Rob Brantly had the other hits for Scranton…slots 1-4 went 7-18 with 4 RBI and 4 SB

Double-A Somerset Patriots

The Patriots actually lost a game! They fell 7-4 to the Senators, which brought their overall record to 31-17. Oh well. Can’t win ’em all. They had 9 hits but went 0-10 with RISP, which is just not going ot get the job done.

  • Starting Pitcher: RHP Luis Medina: 4.0 IP, 2 H, 4 R (3 ER), 4 BB, 5 K, 1 HR – 58% of his pitches were strikes…a bit of a struggle for Medina, who is adjusting to life at the next level
  • In Relief: RHP Nick Green: 3.0 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 1 BB, 2 K – 62% of his pitches were strikes…took his first loss
  • In Relief: RHP Michel Gomez: 1.0 IP, 1 H, zeros, 1 K– 82% of his pitches were strikes
  • Hitting Star: 2B Diego Castillo: 3-5, 1 R, HR, 2 RBI – he’s been on an absolute tear all year, hitting .348 with a bunch of newfound pop
  • Multi-Hit Watch: DH Isiah Gilliam: 2-4, 1 R, 2B, 1 K
  • Middle-Infield Watch: SS Oswald Peraza: 1-4, 1 R, 2 SB
  • Leftovers: Oswaldo Cabrera, Michael Beltre, and Thomas Milone had the other hits…Milone’s was a HR…Donny Sands had an RBI

High-A Hudson Valley Renegades

The ‘Gades improved to 31-17, much like their Somerset brethren, after a 4-1 victory over the BlueClaws. It was a dominant performance. Hudson Valley allowed just 3 hits, walked just 2, and struck out 17 in the victory. The first six slots in the lineup went 9-24 with 3 3B, 2 HR and 4 RBI. That will do.

  • Starting Pitcher: RHP Shawn Semple: 6.0 IP, 2 H, BB, 11 K – 64% of his pitches were strikes…Semple struggled at Double-A, but has absolutely dominated at High-A this yearearned his 2nd win
  • In Relief: LHP Matt Minnick: 2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 3 K – 61% of his pitches were strikes…earned a hold…batters are hitting .184 against him
  • In Relief: RHP Elvis Peguero: 1.0 IP, zeros, 3 K – 82% of his pitches were strikes…batters are hitting .198 against him in 2021, a marked improvement from the .293 BAA against with Pulaski in 2019
  • Multi-Hit Watch: DH Josh Smith: 2-4, 1 R, 2B, 1 K
  • Middle-Infield Watch: SS Ezequiel Duran: 2-4, 1 R, 2B
  • Catcher Alert: C Josh Breaux: 3-4, RBI
  • Multi-Hit Watch: 1B Kyle MacDonald: 2-4, 1 K
  • Leftovers: Elijah Dunham and James Nelson had two hits, both homers…Brandon Lockridge had the other hit, a double

The Tarpons were rained out. They’ll play a doubleheader later today.

Rookie-Level Florida Complex League Yankees East

The Yankees East fell to 1-1 after a 7-3 defeat at the hands of the FCL Blue Jays. The Yanks had 8 hits and a 3-0 lead going into the 8th, but surrendered 7 runs in the final too frames to lose. Oh well.

  • Starting Pitcher: RHP Tyrone Yulie: 3.0 IP, zeros, 3 BB, 2 K – retired 9 of 12, obviously
  • In Relief: RHP Alfred Vega: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K
  • In Relief: RHP Carlos Gomez: 1.2 IP, zeros, 5 K – dominant performance
  • In Relief: RHP Kevin Milam: 1.1 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 1 BB – retired just 4 of the 10 he faced
  • In Relief: RHP Josue Panacual: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 1 K
  • In Relief: RHP Christian Sumoza: 0.1 IP, 1 K
  • Extra-Terrestrial Being: CF Jasson Dominguez: 0-1, 2 BB, 1 K – the patience has been very nice to see from the kid…he has 3 walks in 2 games

  • Leftovers: Raimfer Salinas had a hit, a triple…Roberto Chirinos and Alex Guerrero both had 2...Agustin Ramiriz had the other
