  • Starting Pitcher: Raynel Espinal: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 8 K — 58 out of his 95 pitches (61%) went for strikes… he earned the tough loss, falling to 3-7 on the season…he pitched a complete game in a matchup shortened because of the doubleheader
  • Hitting Star: Ryan McBroom: 1-3 — not much in the way of stars tonight, but McBroom is hitting .216 with a .976 OPS on the season, so
  • Showcase Watch, Clint Frazier Edition: 0-2, 1 BB — Clint didn’t play the first game of the doubleheader…he’s hitting only .143 in Triple-A so far

Double-A Trenton Thunder: (4-2 loss to New Hampshire) fall to 43-21 on the season (5-3 in the 2nd half)… 1.5 game lead in the division

  • Starting Pitcher: Garrett Whitlock: 6.0 IP, 9 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 K — 64 of his 105 pitches (60%) went for strikes… he owns a 2.89 ERA on the season in 67.1 innings pitched

  • Hitting Star: Oswaldo Cabrera: 2-5, 2 RBI, 2 K — both of his RBI came with 2 outs…he’s hitting .252 on the season
  • Florial Watch: 2-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K — a nice game for Florial, though he still struck out twice

  • Starting Pitcher: Luis Medina: 4.1 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 4 BB, 3 K, 1 HR — 47 of his 87 pitches (54%) went for strikes…a rough start to the season for the 20-year-old…he took the loss, falling to 1-6 on the season and owns a 7.97 ERA in 55 innings pitched
